ABOUT

IMME KOOMAN was born and raised in The Netherlands in 1962.  From an early age, she was introduced to many artistic skills, such as sewing, spinning and pottery. She also learned to play the violin. She, however, chose a career in aviation and as a pilot was able to visit and draw inspiration from many parts of the world.

She has always had a love for architecture and her frequent travel fueled her with the idea of designing her own family home and those of others.

Once she stopped flying, she moved to the South of France with her family. This is where she started painting. In The Hangar, she joined the acrylics classes with Dutch painter, Pim de Jongh.  These lessons gave her the freedom to focus more on colours than on form. She was able to make the subtle link between colours, structures and shapes.

Besides painting, she continues to design and manage building projects, including the renovation of her family home Villa Fleur des Champs. A project where she focused on every single detail - even furniture was specially designed for it.

Imme has also learned to weld iron and created her first large sculpture recently.

Her newest passion is to capture all that she sees and likes around her. either with her smartphone and or more recently with her sophisticated camera.

Never too late to learn new skills.
Always searching for inspiration.
